PSI staff appointments
Date: 13 February 2009 Mr Tom McGuinn has been appointed Pharmacy Policy Advisor to the PSI. Tom is a former Chief Pharmacist of the Department of Health and Children and has made an immense contribution to pharmacy in Ireland during his career.
Dr Joan Warren has joined the Inspection and Enforcement Unit as an Authorised Officer. Joan, who holds a Ph.D. from TCD School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, has previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry and community pharmacy, mainly in quality-assurance roles.
Dr Cora Nestor, who has joined the Standards and Practice Unit of the PSI, also holds a Ph.D. in pharmacy from TCD. Cora previously worked with the Irish Medicines Board where she was an executive pharmaceutical assessor in the Human Medicines Department, and has previous experience in the addiction services, community pharmacy and academic sector.
