Part 4 of the Pharmacy Act 2007 establishes a new system for the registration of retail pharmacy businesses. Statutory rules have been established, which set out in greater detail the process which will be followed when registering retail pharmacy businesses under the provisions of the Act.
The Act also establishes new systems in regard to the Rules of Council, Education and Training Rules, Registration Rules (for Pharmacists and other personnel, and for Retail Pharmacy Businesses) and Rules for Fees. These rules are intended to set out in greater detail the procedures and requirements which will be operated by the PSI in carrying out its various functions under the provisions of the Act.
